Today, we’re incredibly excited to announce that Building Engines will be acquired by JLL.
This is a remarkable moment for our company, and I‘d like to share a little about what this announcement means for Building Engines, our customers, and the future of building operations.
I’ve been incredibly proud and fortunate to play a leadership role here at Building Engines—first as a board member in 2011 and then as CEO for the past four years. During this time, we’ve developed a clear vision for our business: to create an exceptional experience for everyone, in every building.
To achieve this vision, our mission has been to deliver industry-leading technology solutions that improve net operating income for our customers.
Enter Prism.
Officially launched in September 2020, we designed Prism to be the next-generation platform for the future of building operations. Built on our company’s 20+ years of commercial building operations experience, Prism symbolizes Building Engines’ commitment to providing the most powerful platform for today’s commercial real estate (CRE)—modern, open, scalable, and with the broadest, deepest feature set on the market.
We’ve moved rapidly since then, further developing our solutions with hundreds of features and enhancements released this year: innovative capabilities for core operations, tenant experience, space visualization, and more.
As a company, we’ve also looked to the market to drive our expansion. Since January, Building Engines has announced two key acquisitions: Ravti (advanced HVAC management) and LogCheck (mobile-first maintenance and inspections). In addition, we’ve added nearly 30 strategic technology companies to our partner ecosystem.
Yet as fast as we’ve been moving, there’s still so much more to do.
That’s why today’s announcement is so incredibly exciting. With JLL, we not only join a company with more than 200 years of property management expertise but also one that already offers a robust portfolio of CRE technology products via JLL Technologies. Together, we’ll be in position to:
- further accelerate platform development and new products for our customers
- expand Building Engines’ reach to serve as the system of record for commercial building operations worldwide
- unify building operations through best-in-class products and seamless connections via an open, flexible platform
- advance adoption of CRE operations technology by bridging the gap between tech and real estate
- offer access to a wider set of data and analytics, so CRE operators and investors can make smarter decisions
We’re thrilled to be part of the JLL family. I look forward to seeing how this new relationship develops as we work toward our shared goal of providing commercial property teams with industry-leading services and technology.
To our valued Building Engines customers: We remain as committed as ever to providing you with the same high-quality products and services you’ve come to expect from us.
As I noted above, we’ve developed our technology to be the building operations platform of the future. Today, we believe that future is brighter than ever.
