I didn’t fully know what to expect when we launched our CRE Tech Talks podcast series earlier this year. I wasn’t completely sure if we’d find enough people interested in participating, or of course, whether anyone would really want to listen.
Like most things, you don’t really know until you give it a try. And although we (and me personally,) have a long way to go and a lot more to learn, this has been a terrific experience for a few clear reasons.
- As a technology company, we get to see and share an interesting “behind the scenes” look at some of the most innovative CRE technology companies out there. Like CRE Tech//Intersect, Redirect inc., Intelligent Buildings, Comfy, and Repsly to name a few.
- I personally get to meet and speak with some incredibly smart and interesting people and build relationships that have already paid dividends.
- I learn a tremendous amount about new ways to position value, marketing and other innovative ways of thinking about things in a space that I’ve been in for a long time. Proof positive that you can indeed teach an old dog new tricks!
All of this is very true for this week’s Podcast guest, Logan Soya, Founder and CEO of energy data management company, Aquicore. Aquicore is a venture-backed, DC-based company with a mission to revolutionize the way building energy consumption information is accessed and provide owners and managers real time insight and actionable information that will help them cut energy costs, like a Fitbit for buildings.
And they are driven by their very smart and accomplished CEO who also happens to be a nationally ranked triathlete, a marathoner and former college rower.
Logan’s insights this week on the ancillary organization benefits realized from CRE technology adoption are worth a listen and consideration from any executive contemplating how to drive and increase performance from their people.
It was a pleasure to speak with Logan and I hope you enjoy the conversation as much as I did.
