BostInno: Tech Madness Update: You Picked the Sweet 16, Now Vote For the Elite 8

We’re back with Tech Madness updates.

We’ve wrapped up Round 2 of voting. You picked the Sweet Sixteen contenders. Now, it’s time to whittle down the competition to eight. Let’s start with some quick numbers: A total of 57,399 votes have been cast in the competition thus far, and 15,384 of those were cast in Round 2.

Cybereason maintained the lead and took over Klaviyo with 56 percent of the votes. Meanwhile, after going neck and neck all week,Lola.com took the win from Affectiva to secure a spot among the Sweet Sixteen. And Formlabs sneaked past Catalant to advance.

Before you vote, ask yourself: Which company am I ready to support with my own money? This can be because you’re bullish about one company’s product or another’s mission. A vote for one company is not a vote against another—but Tech Madness is a friendly competition, and one must move on.

Below are the companies that made it to the next round:

  • Cybereason vs. PathAl
  • Lola.com vs. Lovepop
  • ezCater vs. Formlabs
  • The Predictive Index vs. ProdPerfect
  • Berkshire Grey vs. Logz.io
  • Privy vs. Neurala
  • Flywire vs. Cogito
  • Jobble vs. Building Engines

In the public bracket, a total of 5,375 votes were cast, 1,514 of them in Round 2. Some notable plays: CarGurus took the win from Abiomed by almost 300 votes, and Tripadvisor raced past Carbon Black by 100 votes.

The new matchups are:

  • Tripadvisor vs. Chewy
  • iRobot vs. CarGurus
